A Decade of Marriage!

On June 16th, Eric and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. It's amazing how fast 10 years has gone by. We took a little trip to Fredricksburg, TX. We actually stayed at a bed and breakfast in Llano. It was very remote...we laughed about how far out we had to go in order to get to this place. It was so nice to be out in the middle of nowhere. We were right on the Llano river and surrounded by miles of wilderness. They had a nice pool and it was so quiet while we were there. When we arrived there was only one other couple staying on the property. When we first got there we got settled in and then went down to the local bbq place for dinner. They serve you the meat straight from the pit and then you go in and they weigh it and you pick out your sides. You sit down with everyone else on picnic benches and eat straight from the table...it was great. After dinner we went back and relaxed by the pool. We walked down to look at the river and it was so calm. The water is very low right now, pretty much like it is all over Texas right now since we have not had much rain and it's over 100 degrees every day. We had stickers all over our shoes...sticker patches all over the place. We woke up on our anniversary and went down for breakfast. It was ham and cheese quiche with fruit, a muffin, coffee and juice. Wonderful! After that we laid out by the pool and then putted some golf balls on the putting green. We were out there for a couple of hours. After that we went up and got ready and then headed to Fredricksburg for some shopping and lunch. If you have never been to Fredricksburg, you should go! It's such a cute town with lots of character. We had lunch at a little mexican food place (Beja) and then walked around town. After that we had dinner at a little burger place (The Buffalo Nickel) and drove around to see some more of the town. That night we headed back to the plantation and hung out by the pool some more. We loved it! It was so relaxing and quiet, we didn't have any big plans and just enjoyed being together. We are so blessed that after 10 years we can still laugh and have fun. The last morning there we had another great breakfast, it was waffles with strawberry glaze, yummy!! We got spoiled to having breakfast cooked for us every morning.
Our kiddos stayed at home and their Gran came to stay with them. It was so nice for us to be able to get away for a little while and know that they were probably having just as much fun, if not more, as us! Uncle Jim also happened to be in town while Zach was at a basketball camp, so they got to spend some time with him too. It was a very special anniversary and we are so thankful for Gran to come and spend time with the babies.
